Preoperative examination is a comprehensive assessment of the overall condition of the patient before the planned surgery. It is required before major surgical procedures and includes an evaluation of the complete patient history, ECG examination and, in the case of known heart diseases, an evaluation of the heart condition and its preparation for anesthesia and surgery.
Please bring these documents for examination:
  • complete medical records,
  • a list of all medicines of the patient, including their dosage.
Standard validity of internal preoperative examination:
  • valid for 4 weeks in a patient without major diseases
  • in a polymorbid patient (suffering from several diseases) maximum 14 days before the operation.
If the patient suffers from an acute respiratory or urinary tract infection, the surgery should be postponed until at least until the infectious disease has completely resolved (usually 2-3 weeks).
